Your DorkOS Account

A DorkOS account is your sign-in at dorkos.ai. Creating one is free. Link a computer to it and the DorkOS account tab in Settings shows your plan, your credits and your seats, and dorkos.ai lists every computer you run DorkOS on.

You don't need an account to run DorkOS. Your agents, chats, channels and connections all work without one. Two things do need an account: starting a space that runs on DorkOS, and running agents on DorkOS credits.

Your account is separate from the optional login that protects DorkOS on one computer. The login guards that one machine. The account is what your computers attach to. You can have a login with no account, an account with no login, or both.

A DorkOS account and a login on one computer are never merged. Linking adds this computer to your account. It does not move your login to dorkos.ai, or the other way round.

What linking does today

Once this computer is linked, the DorkOS account tab in Settings shows:

  • Your plan and what it includes. If the account has no plan yet, the tab says so.
  • Your credits: how many are left, when included credits renew, and where they went.
  • Use credits for: one switch per runtime that can run on your DorkOS credits. Today, credits pay for Claude Code. Codex and OpenCode use their own sign-in. It shows whenever this computer is linked, unless credits are switched off on it.
  • What's on your account: the runtimes on your credits, the apps you connected through this account, and the spaces that run on it.
  • Seats, when your account has an organization: who each seat is assigned to.
  • Manage on the web: buttons that open Billing and invoices and Add credits on dorkos.ai in your browser, a way to choose or change your plan, Export your account data, and Delete your DorkOS account. Payments always happen on the DorkOS website, never in the app.

Deleting your DorkOS account

Delete your DorkOS account first says what goes (your plan, credits you haven't used, your seats and everything else the account holds) and what stays (everything on this computer: your agents, chats, projects and files). It offers a copy of your data, then asks you to type delete. DorkOS emails you a link, and nothing is deleted until you follow it. Once you do, this computer unlinks itself and keeps working on its own. If something on the account has to be sorted out first, the app says what and where. Where your account doesn't offer this from the app yet, it says so.

At dorkos.ai/account/instances you also get:

  • A list of your linked computers: name, platform, DorkOS version, and when each was last seen.
  • A check-in: while linked, DorkOS checks in when it starts and every 15 minutes, so the list shows what is running.
  • Removal: take a computer off your account from that page at any time.

Relay and notifications do not use your DorkOS account yet. Remote access through your DorkOS account is coming, and not offered yet. Reaching DorkOS from your phone still goes through your own tunnel.

Creating a DorkOS account

Sign up at dorkos.ai

Go to dorkos.ai/signup. Sign up with email and password, or Continue with GitHub / Continue with Google.

Verify your email

Email/password sign-ups receive a verification link. Click it to confirm your address. Sign-in stays blocked until you do. Social sign-in accounts are verified by whichever service you signed in with.

You have an account

You land on dorkos.ai/account: your profile, verification status, and sign-out. Instances you link appear under Instances.

Linking from the command line

dorkos cloud login runs a device-authorization flow (the same short-code pairing streaming apps use) directly against the cloud. It needs no running server, and it works even on a machine with no browser:

dorkos cloud login

Read the code

The CLI prints an 8-character code and opens dorkos.ai/activate in your browser (the URL is always printed too, for no-browser environments). If you have ever paired a TV remote, you know this dance.

Approve at dorkos.ai/activate

Sign in if you are not already, confirm the code matches, and Approve. The page shows the computer's name and platform before you approve.

Linked

The command saves a key that only this computer can use, and DorkOS starts checking in. Check the link anytime:

dorkos cloud status # linked account and computer name, or "not linked"
dorkos cloud logout # clear the local link

Linking from Settings

If you prefer the UI, open the DorkOS account tab in Settings, right after Profile (it works whether or not local login is on). The team-name menu at the top of the sidebar has a DorkOS account row that opens it, and says whether this computer is signed in:

Click Link this computer. The panel shows the same 8-character code, an Open the approval page button (the code is pre-filled), and how long the code has left. If the page will not open from the app, the panel says so: copy the code and open the approval page in your browser.

Settings, DorkOS account tab, showing the 8-character link code, the 'Open the approval page' button, and 'Waiting for you to approve'

Approve, and watch it flip

Approve at /activate. The tab updates in place, from pending to signed in, showing the linked account and when it last synced. Below that come the sections listed in What linking does today; each one appears only when your account has something to show for it. Unlink this computer is at the bottom, and Link again sits beside the account name. An expired code offers Generate a new code.

The same tab after approval: 'Signed in', the account name, 'Last synced just now', what is on your account, and an Unlink button

Your linked computers

dorkos.ai/account/instances lists every linked computer with its name, platform, DorkOS version, last-seen time, and linked date.

Removing a computer

Revoke from the dashboard

On /account/instances, click Revoke next to a computer and confirm. This deletes that computer's key on dorkos.ai.

The next time that computer checks in, it is turned away, clears its saved key, and shows "This computer was unlinked." Re-link anytime with dorkos cloud login or the Settings panel.

Revoking only removes the cloud link. Running chats, agents, and everything stored on that machine keep working, untouched. The one thing it does end is any app that machine connected through your DorkOS account: those apps are signed out at the service too, so none stays signed in with no way left to reach it.

Developing against your own copy of the dorkos.ai site? Point DorkOS at it with the DORKOS_CLOUD_URL environment variable (default https://dorkos.ai).

Your Claude and Anthropic credentials

Linking to a DorkOS account never touches, proxies, or stores your Anthropic or Claude credentials. A linked computer sends only a name, platform, and version to dorkos.ai. Your Claude quota and API keys stay entirely on your machine.
